The American Legion offers various programs to promote flag etiquette which educates students and individuals alike about the flag's significance and proper display including:

  • Display Guidelines: The flag should be displayed from sunrise to sunset on all days when the weather permits, especially on national holidays    such as Independence Day, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day.

  • Educational Programs: The American Legion Auxiliary offers programs  that teach respect for the flag and patriotism, encouraging citizens to     learn about the Constitution and proper flag display.

  • Advocacy: The American Legion actively advocates for flag protection  and educates the public on the importance of respecting the flag as a symbol of freedom and sacrifice.

These programs and resources aim to instill a sense of respect and understanding of the U.S. flag among citizens, particularly the younger  generation. For more information, you can visit the American Legion's official website or contact your local American Legion post.
